Did you know that Croatia is considered a paradise for bicyclers? At least for those who are not afraid of a variety of trails spanning from steep climbs, rapid  downhill slopes, and tours through the often untouched wilderness.  The bicycling stronghold of the country is Istria. It has over 60 biking trails that add up to a total of 2,600 kilometers. Inexperienced bicyclers can also take their time on the more flat landscapes between Novigrad and Vsar and expert bikers can find their challenge in the Mirna Valley. Fundamentally, the trails marked along the coast are excellent for mountain and Dutch bicycles and the inland trails are better for road bikes. It is also possible to rent bikes and the renting stations can be found in practically ever holiday resort. Renting a good mountain bike will cost around 15 Euros per half day.
