Valun

To the west of the island of Cres which is separated by its neighboring island of Krk by the Kvarner Bay, is the popular holiday destination of Valun. This resort's popularity is particularly due to its idyllic setting, its beautiful beach and by the great 80 Valun inhabitants who provide for the guests. The inhabitants of the place settled long ago in this large bay, which is open to the north, bringing in calm waters. At the same time, there are more beautiful beaches located in the surrounding area.

Valun is located about 4 km south of the capital island of Cres, making it possible for you to do more shopping or excursions from the neighboring city in the easily accessible city of Cres. The old town has developed around the church of St. Mark. It houses one of the oldest documents in the Croatian language - the "Valun Tablet" which displays Glagolitic and Latin inscriptions. Otherwise Valun is a peaceful place with old stone houses covered with climbing flowers, a small harbor and friendly people - the ideal place for a quiet holiday in the Kvarner Bay.
