By far the most famous and popular beach in Medulin and perhaps even in all of Istria is the centrally located sandy beach of Bijeca. The approximately 1 km long fine sandy beach, which is ideal for building sandcastles, slopes very gently into the sea, so that non-swimmers and children can play and splash around in the warm water without worry. Bijeca is therefore particularly recommended for families with small children.
There is a floating aqua park for the little ones. Another highlight is definitely the local water slide. Trees grow close together right on the beach, providing pleasant shade. There are also sanitary facilities on the beach such as showers, changing rooms and toilets, as well as a parasol and lounger rental service. There are several restaurants and bars to cater for your physical well-being.
In the area around the beach there is a large campsite that offers many other leisure and sports activities, a public car park that is usually overcrowded in summer, and right next to it a small amusement park (Family Park or Luna Park) for children, teenagers and the young at heart with various rides such as a Ferris wheel, a small roller coaster, bouncy castles, trampolines, etc.
