Makarska’s main beach stretches 850 m northwest of the town center, on the north side of the rocky Sveti Petar peninsula, and runs for more than 1 km along the Donja Luka bay with its numerous hotel complexes. The Centralna Plaza is a gently sloping fine pebble beach, washed by clear, turquoise water. Tall pine trees line the entire beach. You can find a cool spot in their shade on hot days. Beach facilities include lifeguards, pedal boat rental, an aqua park with a water slide, beach bars, cafes and snack bars. Beneath the trees there are park benches, changing rooms, showers and toilets. A rental shop offers parasols and loungers.
