Stiniva is the most famous and beautiful bay on the island of Vis, if not the whole country. Hidden behind high rocks, the small, bowl-shaped pebble beach is in absolute isolation and idyllic surroundings. Only a narrow gap in the rock face opens up a view of the sea. There is a beach bar on the small beach with small refreshments and snacks. Depending on the position of the sun, the surrounding rock faces also provide natural shade, but you should bring parasols if you are staying for a longer period of time.
By car, you can reach the bay from Rukavac and Vis via a turnoff, about 1.2 km after Plisko Polje (follow the signs). From the car park there, a beautiful but steep and rocky goat path leads down into the picturesque Stiniva Bay. However, the 20-minute descent is difficult for small children and seniors, which is why arriving by sea is recommended, especially on hot days.
Arriving by boat is recommended, not only for convenience but also to get to know the breathtaking natural scenery with the rock formations facing the sea. If you don’t have your own boat, you can book a boat trip in the tourist resorts.
