The nature park is easily reached by public transportation or by car from Zagreb via the A3. The park stretches along the river Sava and is one of Europe’s largest wetlands. In spring and autumn, the area becomes largely flooded and the flood may persist up to 100 days. The park has a rich collection of oak woods and a large number of bird species. The stork population stands out amongst the variety of birds and in 1994 the village of Cigoc even received the award “European stork village” by the European Nature Foundation.

The visitor is not only provided with an extensive network of hiking trails, but also possibilities for rafting trips on the Sava river or boat tours. This is ideal for sporty tourists who want to explore the park by bike or kayak and be enchanted by the fauna and flora. Families and groups also have the option to book guided tours.

Recommended visits would be to go to Cigoc, the stork village and to Krapje. where the traditional architecture of the 18th and 19th century will amaze you. All deals are available for booking online or you can directly contact the park administration in Krapje, south of the nature park.
