Igrane
In the upper district, there are old stone houses and historic buildings, such as the Church of Gospe od Ruzarija (Church of Our Lady of the Rosary) and the Zalina Kula tower, which served to ward off the Turks during the Kandijski War. The church has a multi-story bell tower, which was built along with the sacral building in 1752. The Church of Sveti Michael, surrounded by old olive groves, was built in the 11th century above the coast. It is one of the most important monuments of religious architecture in the Makarska Riviera. The surrounding olive trees come from a long tradition of the residents being olive growers. In order to revive this sector again, Igrane supports the emergence of modern processing plants.
Igrane offers visitors a broad selection of tourist offers. In addition to well-established restaurants serving local and international cuisine, a variety of confectioneries, bars and cafés, there is also a diving school and a wide range of sporting activities such as tennis, mini golf or jet skiing. Recommended destinations include the towns of Makarska, Dubrovnik and Split, the Biokovo Nature Park and the islands of Brac and Hvar.
