Živogošće
The Franciscan Monastery with a church in the upper district of Porat once formed the cultural and historical center of the region. The stone complex built in 1616 consists of several floors. The church was built in the 18th century. Inside the church, you can marvel at its baroque inventory and the elaborate decorations on the vaulted ceilings. Although a visit is not possible, it is worth visiting because of the walk. As you climb up the hill, you get fantastic views of the village of Zivogosce. There are stairs leading from the waterfront promenade up to the monastery. The road is lined with ancient buildings, restaurants and wildly overgrown gardens. Then there are the remains of the Roman Villa Rustica in Mala Duba and Blato. A spectacle of nature also worth seeing is the source of the Pokrivenice. In a cliff above the source, you can see the epigram of Licinianus, which was carved in the stone in 474.
