Kanfanar
The town is located on a 280 meter high hill on the edge of a beautiful fjord. Its surrounding landscape is part of a nature reserve and is a popular destination for walkers and cyclists in particular. You should by no means pass up an opportunity to visit the imposing 105-meter Romuald Cave. Besides hiking and cave adventures, there are also climbing opportunities around Kanfanara.
The legend of the parish Church of St. Sylvester is also very popular. As the story goes, you can see the ghostly apparition of an old man standing next to the altar here. On the last weekend in July, lively entertainment prevails in Kanfanara: The feast of St. James takes place on these days. It is also a worth a day trip to go to the small village of Svetvincenat nearby to see the exceptionally well-preserved Morosini Grimani castle here.
