Klenovica
To the east of the Kvarner bay between the large coastal cities of Novi Vinodolski and Senj, the peaceful fishing village of Klenovica stretches itself out. Around 350 residents have settled in Klenovica. Fishing here especially belongs to their old traditions. Due to the mixing of the surrounding freshwater sources with the salty sea, the local flora and fauna has a rich variety of species. Klenovica is then one of the richest fishing areas in the Kvarner bay, and not in the least the reason why many anglers, divers and boaters seek relaxation here. Today, fishing has lost its place as the most important source of income in favor of tourism. Nevertheless, there are still many local fishermen in Klenovica. The many good fish restaurants prepare the freshly caught fish according to local recipes.
Historical and cultural sights are rare in Klenovica. However, Novi Vinodolski and Crikvenica in the north and Senj with its interesting pirate stories to the south, can be reached within a few minutes. Here you will find sacred buildings, buildings from the famous Francopan family and long since decaying fortresses. Many tourists spending their time in Klenovica are simply trying to find relaxation in the idyllic Mediterranean countryside. Klenovica offers beautiful beaches and well maintained bike and hiking trails.
