Komin
The vegetation around this busy resort, whose inhabitants are always bustling about in the streets and alleys, is characterized by a mixture of barren mountaintops, dense cypress forests and Mediterranean palm trees that line the waterfront promenade. The coastal highway runs along the southern bank of the river where locals once used to sell their goods to passing customers. Even today, you will find some stalls selling oils, honey, wine and regional farmed products.
Visitors can dine in one of the few rustic taverns along the main road and in the surrounding villages of the Neretva River. Since there are no beaches in Komin, most tourists spend their time cycling, hiking, taking rafting trips on the Neretva River or day trips to the Peljesac Peninsula or Dubrovnik.
