Lovište
The local traditions of the 230 inhabitants include fishing, agriculture (such as wine, figs, olives, carob) and tourism. This region is particularly renowned for its unspoiled Mediterranean nature, its idyllic pebbled beaches and its regional attractions. This includes not only the obvious Nakovana Cave, the surrounding villages and the rare archaeological finds, but also the Church of Srca Marijina (Sacred Heart of Mary) built in 1885. This sacred building is located in the town's center and is a good starting point for a short walk around the village, along the lushly vegetated gardens and through the citrus trees, olive trees, cypresses and palms.
In the center you will find places to play Balote (a type of boccia), basketball and football. On the beach there are, furthermore, beach volleyball courts, a water polo field and the possibilities for sailing and surfing. If you visit Loviste, you must taste the local wine and brandy in one of the local taverns. To accompany your wine, it is recommended that you don't forget to try the seafood caught and delivered by the local fishermen.
