Lumbarda
An architectural wonder in Lumbarda is the three-nave Church of Sveti Rok (Saint Rocco), whose bell tower rises above and beyond the narrow streets. This church with the red roof tiles has been enlarged several times and its present appearance dates backs to 1886. Then there is the Church of Sveti Kriz hiding in the vineyards growing the grapes for the regional Grk wine. On the southern side of the peninsula you will find the tourist center of Lumbarda beginning with its cafés, restaurants and shops. Here you can spend many lively evenings on the waterfront promenade. The Mala Gavica hill rises above the center, where you can visit some of the old castles and summer residences of Korcula's nobility. There is also a beautiful ruin sitting on the Bay of Bilin Zal.
