Marčana
Marcana is located in the southern region of Istria, only about 15 kilometers from the coastal town of Pula. Situated on a hill about 170 meters high, this small town stands out amongst the surrounding green landscape. The fertile soil cultivates olives and wine and the groves full of olives, the vineyards and the thick forests entice visitors to take long walks through the countryside. The hilly terrain is also an ideal spot for some fun cycling. In addition to these activities, both riding and hunting are enjoying an ever-growing popularity. Pheasants, wild boar and deer can be found in the woods around Marcana. The town has its roots embedded in a very long history that started when the town was built on the foundations of prehistoric settlements. The city was first mentioned in the twelfth century.
