Podobuče
On the south side of Peljesac, about 10 km east of Orebic, is the small coastal village of Podobuce, which is divided into a lower village and an upper village. The upper village can only be reached from the coast via a steep footpath. A holiday village could hardly be more idyllic, because the road from Orebic ends here, so you can definitely feel like you are at the end of the world. Podobuce is very peaceful. The small town only has a simple restaurant with delicious local cuisine and a cafe, otherwise no other infrastructure. Supermarkets, bakeries and the like can be found after 10 km in Orebic at the earliest.
Podobuce has a total of around 140 inhabitants, there are only a few private accommodations in cozy holiday homes and apartments, a beautiful, small beach in the village center and the breathtaking landscape all around. Along the mountain slopes you can take wonderful hikes through vineyards and pine forests with a fantastic view of the sea and the opposite island of Korcula. The red wine grown here is one of the best in Croatia, as the vines on the steep south-facing slopes are blessed with sunshine almost all year round. The small pebble beach in the town is very popular with families with children and those seeking peace and quiet due to its clear layout and relatively gently sloping shore and sandy seabed.
