Stara Baška
Stara Baska is a small resort on a hillside on the island of Krk in the Kvarner Bay, which is first and foremost known for its stunning coastline and beaches. Stara Baska is located in the southern part of the island, a few kilometers west of the town of Baska and south of Punat. Amidst the rugged island coastline you will always find beautiful beaches with sandy coves which are rare for the Kvarner Bay. Nevertheless, Stara Baska has more to offer. If you want to get to know the small population of 110 inhabitants and their past, then you should take a walk to the church of the Holy Trinity. Built in a Baroque style, the church dates back to 1722 and contains a main altar as well as two more side altars.
Due to its location between the important tourist cities of Krk, Punat and Baska and its close proximity to the offshore island of Cres, Stara Baska is an interesting city for active vacationers and yachtsmen. Whether one takes a bike ride to the closest village to look at the sights of the island or a boat trip along the coast of Krk and Cres, variety is guaranteed while on holidays in Stara Baska. At the same time, one finds peace and relaxation in the quiet settlement.
