Selce
Among the most beautiful sights of Selce include the mainly religious buildings such as the parish church of St. Catherine built in 1888. Here you can see how famous artists and sculptors have become "immortalized" in the church. Pietro Rizzi designed the marble, elevated altar and Giovanni Fumi painted the portrait of St. Catherine. With its late-historic features, the church is well worth a visit. The Church of Saint George and the castle, which was built on a medieval fortress, are worth seeing. From the castle, you can additionally get a fabulous vantage point of the Vinodol valley, and wonderful views of its surroundings. Those who want to spend a relaxing evening on a terrace in the cozy harbor should not miss the versatile gastronomic offers to be found in Selce. In the restaurants and taverns you should taste the fish on all accounts: dishes which are typical for Croatian coastal towns.
