Skradin
Up the flat stone stairs and under stone archways: Skradin has the typical Mediterranean flair which is so common in Dalmatia with its rustic stone houses, narrow streets and historic churches. Historic buildings are also to be found in abundance here in Skradin because the town is one of the oldest cities in Croatia having received its town charter in the 2nd century BC. Architectural highlights include the Church of Our Mother of God with its bell tower and the Church of Sveti Petar (Saint Peter) located in the center of the old town.
Particularly spectacular for the panorama around the village is the Krka River, whose fresh water mixes in Skradin with the salty waters of the Adriatic. This brings not only a particularly large variety of fish to the local waters, but also attracts many boat owners to Skradin's marina. From here many boat owners start their journey along the Krka River or even hikers start their walk here to the nearby waterfall of Skradinski Buk, where, by the way, some scenes from the Winnetou movie were filmed. Whether at the waterfalls or on the beach: The bathing in Skradin promises to be a special experience.
