Peroj
Here in Peroj, you will come across one of the only Orthodox churches in Istria- the Church of St. Spyridon built in 1787. Once inside, you should take the time to admire the precious iconostasis from the 16th century and its corresponding icons. Visitors should also pay a visit to St. Stephen's Church, which is home to many precious Romanesque frescoes. In Peroj there are several restaurants serving traditional Istrian specialties which you should not miss tasting. There are, of course, also Italian restaurants in town. The beautiful, lush green surroundings are ideal for hiking and cycling.
Peroj does not lie directly on the sea, but is situated inland about one kilometer. The town of Fazana, although, is not very far away and its beautiful, pebbled beaches are suitable for families. Other worthwhile, but rather rocky swimming areas are located towards the neighboring village of Barbariga.
