Mrljane
The idyllic fishing village of Mrljane and its 220 inhabitants are centrally located on the eastern coast of the Pasman Island, in the region of Zadar in northern Dalmatia. This settlement on Mount Semic is especially appreciated because of its beautiful pebbled beaches. Residents are, therefore, well equipped to handle tourists. Mrljane always laid at the foot of the mountains up until 100 years ago when the settlement moved to the coast - in part due to fishing and tourism.
Even today, the remains of the ancient settlement on Mount Semic can be visited. At the same time, the mountain is a popular destination for hikers and cyclists and those who reach the summit will be rewarded with fantastic views of the island. The locals provide a range of leisure and sports activities for tourists to do in the town. In Mrljane, the restaurants serve regional specialties such as fine cheese garnished with the island's high quality olive oil.
