Dugi Rat

Below the Mosnjica mountain lies the tranquil tourist town of Dugi Rat, just 5 km northwest of the central Dalmatian coastal town of Omis. The northern town of Split is also just a short drive away. The municipality of Dugi Rat, with a population of 7,100, is known for its beautiful sandy and pebble beaches, but also offers sporting variety and cultural and historical sights. In the center of the town is the Church of St. Mark. The cemetery church is one of the oldest buildings in the area. According to tradition, ghosts are said to haunt the small church.

The restaurants and inns in the area offer typical Dalmatian dishes; fresh fish dishes, seafood, lamb and vegetables with herbs. After a hike or mountain bike tour through the mountain landscape of the Mosnjica, you can fortify yourself well in Dugi Rat. In the center of the town there is a well-developed harbor, which is popular with boaters and admired by walkers. In the harbor you will find several water sports facilities for tourists who want to spend an active beach holiday.
