Mošćenička Draga

In the 19th century, Moscenicka Draga had a swelling of tourism as many travelers from the Austrian-Hungarian Empire started to come to Kvarner Bay and especially to Opatija. After the second World War, there were many people who traveled to Moscenicka Draga for its medieval charm which is hard to match anywhere else. In the historical city, stone houses stand closely on one another and small alleyways guide visitors through the historical city center and by the pompous villas that originally were built during the time of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. These villas are characteristic of the whole Riviera.

After a leisurely stroll the fish restaurants and konobas (a small restaurant in the coastal region of Croatia) of the city lure you in with their fresh, regional specialties- all serve seafood directly caught from the seas. This is because the long fishing tradition has been a part of the town for years, even up until today. Especially exciting for the tourists is the beautiful beach that extends 2 kilometers long and provides a stunning view over the Kvarner Bay.
