Rich in nautic, natural, and cultural beauty

Looking at the gently swinging fishing boats at the marina under a picturesque sunset, all the while enjoying a glass of the famous Babic wine, which is produced only in the karst land of Sibenik, or experiencing a Kornati national park, a paradise for mariners: All this and more awaits at the Riviera Primosten in Northern Dalmatia. This region, easily accessible via the airports in Zadar and Split, is not only rich in natural protected areas like Krka national park, but also has an interesting history that along with regional specialties such as fish from the Krka and the Babic wine allows visitors to get to know Croatia.

Not only is Primosten geographic and touristic center of the Riviera, but it also attracts mariners and boat lovers with its marina. The marina in Kremnik is located immediately outside the Kornati Archipel, which is why many boaters use it as a starting point for a trip to the Kornati national park. Its numerous small islands and reefs make the Kornati national park a fascinating paradise for mariners and divers. A guided tour allows divers to explore a total of nine underwater areas. Possible destinations for boat tours include Sibenik, Skradin, and the Krka national park with its seven waterfalls that loudly pour into the karst lands if the river. There are several spots at the river Krka where swimming is allowed.

Due to the many, century old narrow alleys the former fishing town of Primosten emanates a Mediterranean charm. Tourists mainly stroll through the picturesque stone paved roads past cafes and restaurants, pizzerias and taverns, as wells as shops for handcraft and souvenirs. There are other sites to visit like church Sv. Juraj , which is built on the highest point of the island, or the city walls from the 17th century. The gastronomic choices in Primosten are diverse just like the nightly entertainment. Aurora – the largest disco in Dalmatia – is located about two kilometers outside of Primosten. In addition, Primosten provides several idyllic bays and many natural pebble stone beaches that stretch both to the North and the South.

Discover Croatia’s natural treasures in their originality

The authentic Croatia can be found in the district of Burnji, 4 km outside the city. Burnji is the first settlement in this part of Northern Dalmatia and its inhabitants still live off of agriculture and livestock. In Dolac, a small settlement north of Primosten and about 22 km south of Sibenik, one finds magnificent pebble stone beaches. The crystal clear, partly turquoise water breaks against the rocky cliffs – a beautiful panorama to which one can enjoy Babic wine, cheese, and ham from the region around Dolac. Bilo, just north of Dolac provides a similar view. The picturesque Bilo lies in an idyllic bay and guarantees a quiet and relaxing vacation.

Dreamlike pebble stone beaches can also be found in Rogoznica that, enclosed by a headland, lies in a quiet bay and has a conveniently situated marina. The gently sloping pebble stone and sand beaches in Rogoznica are ideal starting points for boat tours to the surrounding coastal cities and islands. Not far from here is the historically and culturally interesting port city Split that attracts many visitors because of its Diokletian palace from Roman times, its medieval urban extension, its colorful nightlife, and its popular boulevard.
