Ičići

On the Opatija Riviera a few kilometers south of its namesake town, is the vacation destination of Icici on the Kvarner Bay. Since the 19th century, this 600 resident town has been popular, not only just in summer, but winter too, for the relaxing and calming days that can be spent here. The special climatic conditions are due to the Mediterranean Sea and the Ucka mountain range and turn Icici into a popular climatic health-resort. If you were to come here in 1844, you would meet the Austrian-Hungarian noble families and members of the Kingdom relaxing around the Riviera and Icici.

Icici is easy to reach due to its long touristic tradition: by train, car, or through the Rijeka airport. Those who would like to travel with their own yacht should have no problem finding a docking spot in the well-developed marina. This marina, with its 300 docking spots located on the water and an additional 40 on land is considered the nautical center of the Kvarner Bay- and is the perfect starting point for boat rides to the Krk and Cres Islands.

Characteristic of the city is its 12 meter long promenade, its artistic parks as well as the pompous residencies leftover from the Austrian Royalty. A stroll through this holiday destination proves how elegant the Opatija Riviera really is.
