Stobreč
Stobrec, although, is not that uninteresting: The town was built in the 3rd century BC by Greek colonists, whose ancient buildings now only consist of ruins. In the Middle Ages the town was known for its water mills and salt. The early Christian Church of Saint Lawrence is culturally and historically significant. Its three-aisled basilica dates back to the 6th century. You can visit now only some remains and a small church that was once attached to the apse of the basilica. Inside the 18th-century Baroque parish Church of Sveta Marija (Saint Maria) there are the remains of a horse-rider shaped relief with wickerwork ornamentation. In the floor, there are grave plaques that were incorporated during the 15th century.
Summer activities include folk festivals and night fishing, whereby local specialties and wines are served at all of Stobrec's attractions. During the remaining months, local restaurants serve up typical Dalmatian food.
