Island Rab – the green Croatian gem in the Adriatic Rab, an island in the Kvarner Bay in Croatia, probably gets its name from the Illyrian word "Arb", meaning "green and forested". Rab is also known for the July festival Rabska Fjera, celebrating St. Christopher, the island's patron saint. The northern peninsula of Lopar is famous for its 22 sandy beaches, including the 1.5 km long Paradise Beach – ideal for families. Guests can enjoy hiking, cycling, and even bring their dogs. Arrival Rab is connected via several ferry lines: Jablanac-Misnjak, Valbiska-Lopar, taxi boats to Pag, and a catamaran to Rijeka. The crossings range from 18 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes depending on the route.
