Puntadura
Puntadura is a very small town of about 3,000 inhabitants in the southwestern region of the Vir Island, which is located to the north of Zadar and can be reached by car via a bridge in Privlaka. Puntadura – simultaneously the Italian name for the island of Vir - is a resort where you can find tranquility and seclusion. The village is also located near one of the most popular attractions on the island, the lighthouse of Vir. This historical building bears the official name of "Old Captain's House" and is surrounded by a beautiful pine forest. There are well equipped holiday apartments inside the lighthouse. Along the coast there are beautiful possibilities for taking a nice walk, as well as in the old district harbor of the island in southwestern Puntadura. A bar and a small grocery store are in Puntadura. Restaurants and other shops are just 1 km away in Vir.
This part of the Vir Island attracts tourists mainly due to its idyllic beaches that can be found in great numbers along the coast and are especially nice. There are three beaches stretching along the coast of Puntadura. Towards Vir and further to the north you will find more beaches and some wild beaches for dogs.
