Towns on Losinj

The main town is Mali Losinj, located in the southeast of the protected bay. It is particularly popular with sailors due to favorable climate conditions. While its final location will be the restored Kvarner Palace in Mali Losinj, a copy can currently be seen at the Kula Museum in Veli Losinj, which also hosts local history exhibitions and changing art and archaeological displays. The island features many churches from different eras, museums, and art galleries. Losinj's natural beauty has inspired many artists. Guided herbal walks are conducted in the aromatic gardens, and the 19th-century Cikat forest park near the campsite offers numerous scenic walking and hiking paths, including the small votive church of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Getting to Losinj

Losinj is accessible via Cres through the swing bridge at Osor. Cres itself has two main ferry routes: Merag (Cres) – Valbiska (Krk) and Porozina (Cres) – Brestova (Istria), with journeys to Krk taking 25 minutes, ideal for reaching Rijeka International Airport or the mainland quickly. Jadrolinija ferries operate frequently throughout the year. Additionally, the Krilo passenger ferry connects Cres and Mali Losinj daily with other islands and the mainland. Seasonal connections from Mali Losinj to Zadar and to Venice (Venezia Lines) run in July and August, with a journey time of 4 hours 45 minutes.
