Sukošan

Its historical sites are equally tempting, such as the Church of Saint Martin, the Gornja vrata city gate and the former archbishop's summer residence of Palac. Visitors can experience the past while walking through the winding streets of this Mediterranean town or spend the evening enjoying local specialties in numerous restaurants and taverns. Sukosan is a small coastal town with 4,500 inhabitants, which does not deter this town from becoming very lively in the summer months. In addition to the feast of St. Cassian (the patron saint of the city), the "Nights of Sukosan" also brings high spirits to the summer evenings. A true spectacle is during the carnival days when locals wear the typical Luzari masks.

Whether you spend your days at the beach or sightseeing in the neighboring cities of Zadar, Biograd or Nin; whether you go on boat trips to the Kornati National Park or take the walking route around the Vransko Lake, Sukosan is not a place where boredom exists. There are also opportunities for sports such as sailing, surfing, scuba diving, rafting, cycling, tennis and much more. The beaches are family friendly and offer many recreational activities. Dog owners should avoid the wild beaches between Sukosan and Sveti Petar.
